Sharon Burton's 8 steps to amazing webinars

Sharon Burton's 8 steps to amazing webinars: If you do webinars then I can pretty well guarantee that you'll find something useful in Sharon Burton's e-book for Kindle and Nook 8 Steps to Amazing Webinars. I've done loads of them but I still managed to find 22 extracts that I wanted to highlight and save in my Kindle's clippings file. Be sure it really is webinars you do. If you use web conferencing for meetings or for virtual classrooms then this is not the book for you (Onlignment do some good ones and they're free!). Webinars are web seminars; they are the equivalent of sessions at a conference. Unlike conference sessions, they are usually delivered free, which can mean they sometimes have a promotional sub-text.

It will probably only take you 30-45 minutes to skim through this book, but that's a benefit as far as I'm concerned; and your investment of $10 will be returned many times over if you end up putting just one of Sharon's ideas into practice.

Sharon certainly believes in promotion. With regard to your Twitter campaign, she advises that you "post at least once a business day for at least two weeks before each webinar." Even then "Understand that 50% of your signups won’t attend the live webinar."

And she has very specific guidelines for facilitation:
"When you get about five people, ask for a sound check."
"Start your webinar at three minutes after the hour."
"At five minutes before and at two minutes before the official start time, unmute yourself and announce the start time."

There's lots of this stuff and it's all good practical stuff.
