Join us for several free intimate, hands-on, half-day events focusing on social learning:
One of the things that I love about working as an analyst is meeting new people and learning about both their challenges and professional passion. I’m sure you’ll agree that there are quite a few naysayers in the L&D industry (you’re thinking of one now I’ll bet) but I truly believe the “won’t happen here” voices are increasingly being muffled by the voices of those passionate about the renaissance we are seeing in L&D. And when I say renaissance I’m talking about several related ideas - the sociotechnical aspect of learning, the focus on the “human factor” in learning, and supporting those ideas by improving user experience. That’s a whole lotta buzz so let me explain…

>
The sociotechnical aspect of learning involves understanding relationships between people, their interaction with technology, and how together, networks of learners are formed over time.

> The human factor (“ergonomics” in some areas of the world) in learning is the recognition that the most critical aspect of learning is people. That’s a simplistic definition of a complex topic; however, when looked at through a learning lens, the human factor is about recognizing human behavior, limitations, and cognition within an environment.

> Closely related to that is improving user experience. That’s all about making things useful and easier to use by recognizing human capabilities and behaviors.

WE-Learning is about learning through interaction and learner networks by taking advantage of the social nature of learning. Our WE-Learning workshops include discussions about audience analysis, learning architecture, culture, strategy, and evolving roles.

Share your professional passion with us and your peers throughout the U.S. this year as we present, along with SkillSoft,
Free WE-Learning Workshops in Boston (June 14), San Francisco (June 16), Long Beach (September 8), Chicago (September 22), DC (October 3), and Dallas (October 11). Did I tell you it was FREE? Sessions are filling up fast. What the heck are you waiting for? See you on the road!
